Priya Nimkar Joshi
1. Priya is a founder director of Kalanilayam Center for Dance.
MA (Dance), Nritya Visharad, M.Com. and Diploma in journalism are her formal qualifications. She is a disciple of well known Bharatnatyam exponent Guru Dr Sucheta Chapekar. She received her initial training from Guru Dr. Vasundhara Shreedharan in ‘Pandanallur style’.
She is currently working as a faculty for dance at FLAME University, Pune.
She is on the Panel of Gurus’ at Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune University and School of Performing Arts, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University.
Priya is a member of ‘International Association for Dance Medicine and Science’ (IADMS).
She is working for past 28 years in the field of dance and enjoys dance performance, teaching, choreography and research.
Sameer Hemant Joshi
Sameer is a theatre person, now turned into writer- director for Television and Film industry. Sameer takes care of management of ‘Kalanilayam’ and contributes to various activities with his creative and critical inputs.
Manasi Ghanekar Ganjave
Manasi initiated her dance training under Guru Dr. Sucheta Chapekar at the age of 9 and pursued further training under Mrs. Priya Nimkar Joshi for past 13 years. She has done MFA Bharatnatyam from Sastra University, Tanjore under the guidance of Guru Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. She taught dance at various international schools and colleges in Pune like UWC Mahindra College, Flame School of Fine and Performing Arts apart from teaching at Kalanilayam Center for Dance. Currently she is teaching dance at Sharanya Narayani International School, Bangalore. Manasi has performed extensively in India, Indonesia and
Europe and further wishes to do an in depth research in the field of dance.
Neha Khisti is a unique combination of an IT professional and an artist. Neha started learning Bharatnatyam at the age of 13 and did her Arangetram in 2009. She has done BCS and MCA and is teaching dance for past 7 years at Kalanilayam Center for Dance. She is a committed teacher nurturing young dance students. Her lively nature, regularity, timeliness and dedication to dance and teaching are always an inspiration to our students. She wishes to continue with dance with teaching as her main focus.
Ambaree Rege is an artist with a dynamic combination of Dance, Drama and Music. She is learning Bharatnatyam for past 15 years under Mrs. Priya Nimkar Joshi and did her Arangetram in 2011. She has completed her Bachelors in Marathi Literature from Pune University and MA in Performing Arts from FLAME School of Performing Arts. She has also completed ‘Nritya Visharad’ from Gandharv Mahavidyalaya. Ambaree has performed dance and theatre all over Maharashtra and Goa. She has worked as a dance teacher and conducted workshops on movement and theatre in various institutions in Pune. Apart from performance she is working as a project head for ‘Kalanilayam Outreach Initiatives’. She further wants to pursue dance as a performer and choreographer with special interest in Chorography for dance dramas.
Saniya is an excellent teacher and performer. She started learning dance at the age of 9 and did her Arangetram in 2011. She has done Masters in English Literature and currently pursuing MFA in Bharatnatyam from Sastra University, Tanjore. She has also done B 1 level in French from Alliance Francaise de Poona. She is teaching at ‘Kalanilayam’ for past 7 years. Saniya has performed all over Maharashtra and Goa. Her areas of interest are classical dance performance, teaching and research.
Rucha started learning dance at the age of 13 under Mrs. Priya Nimkar Joshi. She has done B.com from Pune University and C 1 level in German language from Max Mueller Bhavan. She is also ‘Nritya Vishrad’ from Gandhrva Mahavidyalaya. She has been performing dance in Maharashtra for past few years. She is a passionate teacher with a strong belief in values inculcated through classical dance. She teaches at ‘Kalanilayam’ as well as Sahyadri International School, Pune.
Juee Deshingkar is our young, talented dancer and teacher. She started learning dance at the age of 6 under Mrs. Priya Nimkar Joshi and did her Arangetram in January 2016. Currently she is pursuing BA Bharatnatyam in Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune University. She is keen in understanding music for dance and undergoing training for Vocal Music. She is teaching dance at ‘Kalanilayam’ for past 4 years. She is performing dance for past few years in Maharashtra and is keen in performance and research
